Height Standing straight, without shoes.

Shirt

Shirt length From the top of the shoulder straight down to where you want the shirt to end.

Shoulder Across the back, from the edge of one shoulder to the other.

Bust Around the fullest part, keeping the tape level.

Waist Around the narrowest part of your waist.

Hips Around the fullest part of the hips.

Armhole Around the top of the arm, close to the body but not tight.

Sleeve length From the shoulder edge to where you want the sleeve to end.

Sleeve opening Around the sleeve where it finishes.

Neck depth (front) From the base of the neck down the front, as deep as you would like it.

Neck depth (back) The same at the back.

Trousers

Trouser length From the waist to the ankle.

Trouser bottom Around the opening at the ankle.

How to measure

Measure over light clothing, not over a jacket or a dupatta.
Keep the tape snug but not tight — you should fit a finger underneath.
Stand relaxed and straight; ask someone to help with shoulder and back measurements.
If you have a garment that fits you well, measuring that is often easier than measuring yourself.
